Privacy Policy

1. Overview

HoleInWhen.com ("we," "us") respects your privacy. This policy explains what we collect, why, and your choices. We collect only what we need to send you tee-time alerts.

2. Information we collect

Account details: your name, email address, and a hashed password.
Mobile number: used to text you alerts. We store it so it prefills on future alerts.
Alert preferences: the courses, dates, time windows, and group sizes you choose.
Usage records: a log of alerts we sent you and basic delivery status, for reliability and support.

We do not collect payment card details, and we don't sell your personal information.

3. How we use it

To operate the service: monitor availability and send you alerts.
To secure accounts, verify email, and reset passwords.
To communicate about your account and respond to support requests.

4. Text messaging

We use a messaging provider (e.g., Twilio) to deliver SMS alerts. Your number is shared with that provider solely to send the messages you asked for. Reply STOP to opt out at any time or HELP for help. Message and data rates may apply. We do not share your number with third parties for their own marketing, and SMS opt-in data is not shared with third parties.

5. Service providers we share with

We share limited data with vendors that help us run the service — a hosting provider, an SMS provider, and an email provider — only as needed to deliver the service. They are not permitted to use your data for their own purposes.

6. Data retention & deletion

We keep your data while your account is active. You can delete your account at any time from the Account page, which removes your profile, alerts, and notifications. You can also email us to request deletion, and we will remove your data promptly.

7. Security

Passwords are stored hashed (PBKDF2 with a per-user salt), sessions use signed cookies, and traffic is served over HTTPS. No system is perfectly secure, but we take reasonable measures to protect your information.

8. Your choices

Update your name and mobile number, or delete your account, from the Account page.
Stop SMS alerts by replying STOP or by pausing/deleting your alerts.
Request a copy or deletion of your data by emailing us.

9. Children

The service is not directed to children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect their data.

10. Changes

We may update this policy; we'll revise the date above when we do. Significant changes may also be communicated by email.
